CULTURE MEDIA - YEAST EXTRACT

Yeast extract is water soluble, peptone like derivative of yeast cells (Saccharomyces). It is manufactured under controlled conditions to retain its vitamin content and other nutritive values such as free amino acids. Yeast extract is a substrate in media formulation not only supplies vitamins but also proteins, carbohydrates and some micronutrients.
